Bro. Jonathan Ashcraft's October 2018 Prayer Letter

Dear Friends,

More than 2,000 people heard a clear presentation of the Gospel this past week as we made an extra effort to reach more lost souls for Christ. Over 100 soul winners participated in our outreach emphasis and Bro. Darrell Ratcliff helped out by providing his inflatable rides for our evangelistic rallys on Friday and Saturday. We were able to see so many people pray the “sinners’ prayer” and accept Jesus into their hearts. It was moving to see adults, young people and children ask the Lord for salvation.

After the Saturday night rally, a woman thanked us personally for bringing the gospel to her community. Many others asked if we would return. With our Bible institute semester in full swing, we have seen an interest in some of the young men to start a mission out of our church in that community, about twenty miles south of our campus. We are praying about beginning in the house of a family who was saved and baptized this past Sunday in our services. One of our graduates, who pastored in a neighboring state for many years, has returned and is willing to head up this effort. It will be a blessing to see him lead others of our ministry to plant this new church.

Last month, Jenny headed up a ladies conference at our church. Over 125 women attended and many made decisions for Christ. It was a blessing to have Mrs. Billie Sloan, my aunt, with us as the main speaker.

We are about to break ground on a new dormitory building for the Bible institute and an educational building for the church. The cost will be high but the benefits will be greater. One of our men, Bro. Joaquin Vazquez, has come on full-time to head up the construction effort. Please pray for the funds to come in consistently so we can finish these two big projects in the next few years.

We also are in desperate need of staff housing. There are single men and women who work in our ministry that need to be living on campus outside the dorms. In addition to this, we need guest housing.

There is a lot of work to be accomplished for the Lord. People need to hear the Gospel and buildings are needed in which to nurture, teach, and train those that come. Please be in prayer and consider being a part of the great things going on at Mount Hebron.

Jenny and I are planning a trip to be with my mother-in-law for Thanksgiving. It will be the first time we have spent a holiday with family state-side in many years. We hope to be in a few churches and raise some needed support for our ministry.

Yours in His service,

Jonathan Ashcraft
